Student-Athletes of the Month

Alexis Simpson

Alexis Simpson is a Grade 11 student at St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School in Barrie.  She was nominated by her teacher-coach, Mike Greene who said:

“Alexis is a defensive captain who never misses a game or practice.  She was thrown into the fire when the regular JOA quarterback fractured her ankle the night before the CSASC Championship Game.  With no practice and limited reps throughout the year, Alexis stepped in at QB and led JOA to a gut-checking 8-2 victory over a very tough St. Peter's team.  Alexis, the 2018-19 Junior Athlete of the Year is an impact player in volleyball and baseball, as well as flag football.”

Congratulations Alexis!

Liam D'Ulisse

LiamLiam D’Ulisse is a Grade 12 student at St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School in Barrie.  He was nominated by his teacher-coach, Anthony Buffone who said:

“Liam played a stellar CSASC Championship

game against St. Peter's. He won every ball in the middle of the pitch and was a force both offensively and on defense. Liam scored a total of 8 goals this season including a goal in the GBSSA Championship game versus Bear Creek that propelled the Knights to OFSAA. Liam is a key component of our formation and not only does he play with intensity and perseverance, he plays with integrity and a strong work ethic. He has yet to receive any disciplinary cards in a game this season.  Liam was also the CSASC Senior Boys Doubles Champion in Badminton last spring.”

Congratulations Liam!
