Athletic Leadership Recognition

Anne Nadon

Within the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, there are a tremendous amount of influential athletic leaders whom we wish to recognize.  These exceptional staff members contribute to a competitive, vibrant, safe and fair athletic experience for our student-athletes.

From Holy Trinity Catholic High School in Bradford, we recognize the outstanding efforts of Anne Marie Nadon.  Over the last 27 years Anne has been actively engaged as a teacher-coach in the SMCDSB community. She has worked alongside of students and staff at St. Joseph’s as well as St. Peter’s, and is currently at Holy Trinity where she continues to volunteer so much of her time to student wellness through sport and physical activity.

“Each season you can find her inside the gym or outside on the track, continuously inspiring student-athletes to strive to be their best,” stated Co-Curricular Chairperson, Denny deOliveira.

It’s cross country and boys volleyball in the fall, girls volleyball in the winter, and track and field in the spring.  In addition to her coaching responsibilities, Anne leads by example through organizing the Tigers Athletic Council, hosting annual sports tournaments for elementary and high school students, and coordinating Bridge Builders.

Colleague Cheryl McLaughlin added, “Anne is the most dedicated coach I have ever seen. Beyond just the sheer number of teams and hours she contributes, the amount she truly cares about developing the whole athlete, the whole person, and building character is inspiring. She always has a project and a team of managers who she "helps" by having them help her. Every player she coached will remember their experience as one of enjoyment and growth”.

Outside of school, she offers tutoring at no charge to students who desire a little extra help.  “Anne is a motivator and a celebrator both in the classroom and out.  She supports our athletes as whole people, with an eye to their physical and mental health, personal goals and struggles, and the understanding that winning can take a lot of forms,” shared colleague, Kimberley Fraser.

A heart of gold, a phenomenal advocate for healthy-active living, Anne, we thank you for your remarkable athletic leadership over the past 27 years!
