Boys Soccer- St. Peter's C.S.S. vs St. Joan of Arc C.H.S

On Friday, September 23, 2016, teams from all over Simcoe County and Muskoka joined together for one fun day of soccer.  The annual tournament is hosted by Holy Trinity Catholic High School with the goal to raise as much money for charity as possible while participating teams receive extra competition.

On the field, about 8 teams participated in both the junior and senior divisions.  Teams from Muskoka Parry Sound (MPS) as well as Simcoe County Athletic Association (SCAA) and Catholic School Athletics of Simcoe County (CSASC) took part in the day.  The championship game in both divisions saw St. Joseph’s Catholic High School and Holy Trinity Catholic High School.  The Holy Trinity Tigers came out on top in both games, Juniors 1-0, Seniors 4-3.

Funds from the event were raised in support of the following charities: Camp Ooch, Ronald McDonald House, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  Approximately just over $500.00 was donated to each of the three organizations.  A special $100.00 will go toward recognizing an outstanding soccer player at Holy Trinity’s graduation.

We want to thank event convenor, Denny deOliveira and his outstanding support crew combined of Tiger staff and students, for organizing another great event. Much appreciation goes out to all schools who supported the event by entering a team, and some schools who entered two.  A big thank you also goes to Springwater Tree Nursery for use of their facilities and to the Huronia District Soccer Regional Association (HDSRA) for providing officials for the day.
